Description:	Related Resources & Cores General Clinical Research Center Biostatistician consulting services are available to all LA BioMed investigators utilizing inpatient or outpatient GCRC services at any time throughout the lifetime of a study, from initial planning through final analysis and publication. The biostatistician reviews all GCRC protocols for design integrity and statistical validity and provides assistance to investigators as needed. Services Available to LA BioMed Investigators Study design: Statistical design, group assignments, randomization methods, treatment allocation, measurement criteria, outcome definition Power and sample size calculation Developing the Analysis Plan for the study Assistance in writing protocols Developing randomization schedules Designing the data base for optimal eventual analysis Guidance in data analysis and interpretation of results If special software is required and available, assistance in accessing and installing and interpretation of the software Presentation and interpretation of final results in publications Training in statistical methods and use of statistical software Participation in journal clubs to discuss statistical aspects of articles Staffing The biostatistics core includes one PhD biostatistician and consultative service from UCLA-CHS
