This Core will provide research consultation and facilitation to students, fellows, junior and senior investigators in the area of patient adherence to medication and other HIV regimens. This is an issue of growing importance in HIV given the rigorous adherence demands of new antiretroviral combination therapies. In addition, adherence to other regimens including risk reduction, diet, and exercise will be another area of consultation in conjunction with the Behavioral, Adherence, Recruitment and Retention Core. This is a new core, and will promote collaborations between both basic and behavioral scientists, and encourage HIV related research, treatment, and clinical trials. All members of this Core have worked with multidisciplinary teams and will work together with faculty from the basic and clinical science cores to ensure integrated research consultation.

The goal of this Core is to provide technical and scientific assistance to researchers exploring medication adherence as part of HIV/AIDS research at UCLA and to encourage multidisciplinary and community collaborations in basic, behavioral, and clinical research.
