The UCLA Orphan Disease Testing Center (ODTC) is a CLIA-licensed clinical laboratory dedicated solely to providing regulated testing for rare (orphan) diseases.

The primary intent of this service is to provide validated confirmation of mutations identified in research laboratories which can then be reported directly to physicians and patients.

ODTC is closely tied to one of the pioneer molecular pathology laboratories in the world, with years of experience in translational research, novel test development and expertise of our board-certified involved faculty.

ODTC is supported by 3 academic departments of the UCLA Medical Center, offering expert clinical consultative services for rare disease testing: Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, Pediatrics and Human Genetics.

Acceptable test requests include diagnostic (symptomatic), prenatal diagnostic and carrier testing indications.
